Even though I’m finishing my tenth novel, I know what it’s like to procrastinate creative work. Years ago, that struggle consumed my life.
I left a career as a television producer in LA to develop stories and write scripts, but I never felt ready to start. I was afraid I wouldn't be good enough. Perfectionism generated so much pressure that I couldn't get started.
At night, I’d go to bed, wondering why so much time was passing without using my skills. Years passed, and nothing changed.
So, I know how painful it can be.
I also know what it’s like to be on the other side of that.
I know what it’s like to wake up excited that the novel I’m writing is coming together and that I'm giving my readers a satisfying experience as they follow characters through an exciting journey and learn along the way.
My deeper truth is that I care about helping others overcome their fears of being creative so they can experience the process and feel the joy of their work flowing through them effortlessly. Creative work helps people learn about themselves in a unique and personal way. It's powerful for both healing and communicating.
Because I understand how cultural programming can hinder many people's creativity, I have dedicated myself to helping many individuals experience the satisfaction of doing their creative work.
If you (or anyone you know) struggles to allow yourself to work on your creative projects, I'm offering 5 people an Unleash Your Creativity Consult to help you start moving forward.
